the looks

Pictures from Mstrkrft @the roxy below.

Thanks to Ceaser for coming with me and getting us vip treatment. And if ever MSTRKRFT is in your town, GO SEE THEM. I'm so in love with the amazing music these guys are playing for us all to dance to!

shoots: Joey and Kim

A couple weeks ago I brought Joey and Kim into the studio for a spontaneous shoot. I love these girls, they put up with my lights and lenses in their faces hehe.

And since Joey is graduating in June, we played around with a cap and gown.

Thanks again Kim and Joey! I love you guys!

a little bit of black and blue

if you ever wondered where the titles to these blogs come from, the majority are from songs.
like this one comes from Justice's remix of Franz Ferdinand's "The Fallen", fun.

anyway,
last week, kim, joey and i made our way out to pasadena to see Chuck Palahniuk, who's on tour for his new novel, Rant.

when you get old, as i am, it's soo much better when other people drive.

so the lovely kim drove.

she's a good driver now. i remember the days when we'd go out and she'd drive, i'd make her pull over so that i could drive. haha.

monday was soo hot. me dying from the heat and my sister can't even handle it!

the reading was great. it was at Vromans outside in their patio. the place was pretty packed which is awesome because if you ever get a chance to go to one of chucks readings, you are in for such a treat. so he read two unpublished stories and letters from readers. he gave out fake cigarettes. he had some trivia questions and to the person who answered correctly received a signed blow-up dear. haha. and for people who asked questions he gave them a signed plastic bouquet and the books, Clown Girl by Monica Drake and Obscene Interiors: Hardcore Amateur Decor by Justin Jorgensen. so who asked a question? i did! i repeated the question in my head so many times so i wouldn't mess it up, haha. when he said, girl in the yellow shirt, i wasn't even sure it was me and asked my question anyway haha. but it was me. and i swear i was nervous and shaking when he was looking at me while he answered the question. haha. oh my god he's awesome. seriously, if you haven't, read his books and catch his next tour.

we didn't stick around for the book signing because Rant was already signed and 2 hours passed, the line had hardly moved. i also just read that people got their books signed as late as 1am. caaaarazy. so we went to eat instead on Colorado.

kims way into the paparazzi pose, middle finger and all.

and then we called it a night. woo!

looking into the sun

i had zero intentions to go to coachella this year, seeing as i've never been and i've always, since i can even remember, been anti huge music festivals with hoards of people and heat. but Mel and Ceas convinced me and on thursday i found a $45 ticket for friday.

so what did i think? it was ok. mel and i scored amazing parking and we didn't have to wait to get in for too long. saw silversun pickups, amy winehouse, artic monkeys, peaches, felix da housecat, benni benassi, interpol, and... Bjork! asldkfjasldkjfasdjf!! just amazing. absolutely. i knew the moment everyone was cheering when she came on stage that it would be one of those amazing moments in my life that i'm soo completely into and engulfed by that i'll barely be able to remember how it felt. and i can tell you that all i know is that it was amazing.

the only thing that completely sucked is that i always go to things like this excited with the potential of taking great pictures and i always come out having barely taken any pictures at all, and just being overall disappointed. no exception here and what makes things worse is that i was using an ass old and slow memory card which made all my pictures look like i was using some shitty 4 megapixel camera. damn. nevertheless, here's something for you to look at.

on the way. traffic was pretty decent.

busted.

yeah looks cool, but jesus it's hot.

people doing what they know best. drinking beer.

cute.

amy winehouse.

sea of legs.

peaches.

too much fun dancing in this tent.

interpol.

and since i couldn't get any decent pictures of bjork with my shitty slow memory card i thought was my good one, this is all the bjork i got, via jumbo tron.

too many people.

thank you.
